Health Education England working across Kent Surrey and Sussex is seeking to appoint to the regional post of GP Programme Director for the Guildford programme, which is offered on the basis of a fixed term (12 months) sessional employment contract with Health Education England.  The post will be accountable via the Head of GP School to the Head of Primary and Community Care Education. 

Working at the Postgraduate Medical Education Centre at the Royal Surrey Hospital, the core role is to facilitate the delivery of the GP Specialty Training Programme across the Guildford Scheme, working with a team of fellow Programme Directors.

The team of Programme Directors work flexibly to support GP Trainers and Hospital Clinical Supervisors in delivering the GP curriculum. They also support the GP Specialty Trainees through the organisation and delivery of education, monitor trainee progress and provide pastoral support to trainees. The role also includes support for GP placements in the Foundation programme, and involvement in the development of Community Education Provider Networks (CEPNs) to deliver the necessary capacity for the wider future primary care workforce.

Candidates invited to interview will be required to prepare and present a 5-minute presentation, the subject of which will be communicated if invited to interview.
