The Healthcare Education Team in the HEE North West Office is responsible for planning the delivery and ensuring the quality of postgraduate medical and dental education and training across the North West. HEE is committed to the development of a medical and dental workforce that will support high quality patient care in Greater Manchester, Cumbria, Lancashire and Cheshire and Merseyside.
HEE North West Office covers a geographical range from Kendal in the north to Crewe in the south and from Tameside & Glossop in the east to the Isle of Man in the west. It is also involved with trainees and programmes in North Cumbria (Carlisle & Whitehaven), which come under HEE North East Office. We have responsibility for approximately 7,300 trainees, comprising 1,900 Foundation trainees and 5,465 Specialty trainees, including 1,440 GP trainees (GP ST1-3) and 65 vocational dental practitioners. In addition, there are now 160 Physician Associate posts, with a second cohort planned for 2017.
Our work is set within the Five Year forward view for the NHS and is defined by the HEE Mandate from Government. It is part of the consensus on how the NHS needs to change, with a key focus on prevention and a commitment to reducing health inequalities and promoting equality and diversity.

This post includes working with the Higher TPD role a piece of project work to review core training in psychotherapy across the region. If applying as a job share, please indicate in the application form your interest in job sharing and the preferential area in which you want to work.
