An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Health Education England (HEE) Corporate Portfolio Management Office based in Blenheim House, Leeds.   

This role provides opportunity to lead the organisational strategy, operating framework and operational process to manage and monitor benefits realisation, closely aligned to the delivery of improved patient care and population health. 

Communication and interpersonal skills are key for this role as the post holder needs to establish and maintain effective relationships with key stakeholders; communicate complex concepts in a clear and understandable manner; and act as a communications link for benefits realisation and management between regional portfolio offices/teams, national teams and the Corporate Portfolio office.  

The successful post holder will possess professional knowledge of benefits management and programme management principles, and experience of providing benefits specialist support at a strategic level and to a number of complex initiatives simultaneously. Working with dedicated portfolio and PMO teams you will contribute to a medium and long-term benefits realisation strategy for HEE and develop and train programme managers on benefits approaches. You will work with colleagues in the national functions (such as Business Planning, Finance and Business Intelligence) to integrate benefits realisation into our processes. This role offers a great opportunity to support and develop project teams and build the organisation’s ability to articulate the benefits of its portfolio of responsibilities, detailing effective outcomes with tangible benefits for the NHS.  

This is an important time for HEE to align our responsibilities around the NHS Long Term Plan and the People Plan with those of our partner organisations.  This role will have a big impact on how we embed the best practice ways of working around benefits management.  

Although the team is predominantly Leeds based, consideration will be given to applicants whose main base is elsewhere. Applicants do however need to be flexible about attending the Leeds base as required.
