The NHS Leadership Academy's purpose is to develop outstanding leadership in health, to improve people's health and their experience of the NHS

The NHS Leadership Academy has been developing and delivering blended learning programmes for the last four years. Your work will directly support the Leadership Development of thousands of NHS employees and in turn improve patient care.

You’ll be responsible for managing our recently consolidated hosting estate on AWS. We’ll provide you with great support and opportunities to develop yourself and our infrastructure offering through conferences, training and in house events. You’ll have freedom to be creative in the way you implement solutions and be encouraged to be creative and introduce new ideas and technology.

To be effective in this role you will be an experienced DevOps engineer familiar with a AWS’s product offering, ideally where open source and cloud technologies have applied agile development methods. You will be working with Terraform, Kubernetes, Jenkins, git, AWS, Packer, PHP, Gulp and anything else you think will bring value to your work.

As part of the Digital Delivery team, you’ll work alongside our PHP developers and report to the Digital Delivery Lead. You will help ensure that our virtual campuses and websites are served by an efficient and reliable infrastructure that is responsive to changing demands. You will work independently and in the team, with a high degree of proactivity and adaptability to changing circumstances and demands. Working with our wider Digital team, you’ll have opportunities to help design and develop new products through our prototyping framework and user research with a focus on service improvement and automation.

You will be an excellent communicator and be willing to develop your skills as new technologies become available. Experience working as DevOps Engineer or in an agile environment is a bonus. You will be confident in working with users and using a variety of development tools and techniques and be committed to quality and continuous improvement.
