Health Education England is committed to recruiting the best person for the job, based solely on their ability and individual merit as measured against the criteria for the role; through a process that is fair, open, consistent and free from discrimination. Health Education England supports the values and pledges of the NHS Constitution.

We are committed to being a diverse and an inclusive employer and will build a culture where all employees are valued, respected and acknowledged. We strive to ensure that no individual receives less favourable treatment on the grounds of their gender identity, sexual orientation, disability, religion or belief, colour, race, ethnicity, national origin, age, pregnancy and maternity, marital or civil partnership status, transgender status, HIV status, social background, trade union membership or non-membership and is placed at a disadvantage by requirements or conditions that cannot be shown to be justifiable.

As part of HEEs contribution to the International GP Recruitment (IGPR) Scheme we are looking to recruit a Programme Director for 1 sessions to provide Clinical educator support to the project within Nottingham.

In support of the General Practice Forward View (GPFV) commitments, NHS England (NHSE) is undertaking an International GP Recruitment Programme with a view to recruiting 2000 qualified GPs from the EEA and overseas countries by 2020. IGPR offers an intensive support to the Induction and Refresher route including education in the form of half day or whole day release. The doctors are placed in practices which may not be used to training. Therefore both the doctors and the practices need support in receiving and giving quality education.

The postholder will be part of the educator team for the project, contributing to recruitment interviews, liaison regionally and nationally, developing local processes and most importantly providing an educational programme which familiarises the international GPs with the NHS and primary care in the UK and provides ongoing support as they settle into their new roles.

This is a secondment opportunity until the end of March 2019.

The base for the post will be the HEE offices in Leicester.

Salary will be GP01 of the GP Educator Pay Scale.
