The Programme Director is responsible for coordinating the Paediatrics Training programme in Health Education England across the Midlands covering the East Midlands Training Programme.

There is one Training Programme Director vacancy at 1 PA ( 4 hours) covering the East Midlands region.

The Programme Director will ensure that both national standards, determined by the Royal College, and also guidelines and standards established within the East are met. 

The Programme Director will be expected to implement national and HEE policies in Paediatrics Training. 

The successful applicant will work closely with the East Midlands Deanery Team and Head of School including; PGMDE Business Manager and the Healthcare Education Team, Postgraduate Dean, and other key departments including Quality.

They will work with the Postgraduate Dean to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.

The Healthcare Education Team in the HEE East Midlands is responsible for planning the delivery and ensuring the quality of postgraduate medical and dental education and training. HEE is committed to the development of a medical and dental workforce that will support high quality patient care in the East Midlands.

Please note: The post is offered on a secondment basis and all candidates are reminded that if they are successful, they are responsible for securing written agreement from their Trust for release from clinical work for the specified number of PAs/sessions (1 PA).

The length of appointment will be for 2 years; renewable with mutual agreement.
