ASSOCIATE DEAN (Hospital & Community)
(2 sessions per week)

Applications are invited for the post of Associate Dean (Hospital & Community)

This appointment is for 2 sessions to replace a retirement vacancy to start from October 2017.

The post includes multiple roles including responsibility as SASG Lead for implementing innovative workforce transformation strategies around new models of care and the wider workforce, together with sessional time dedicated to the leadership, management and coordination of senior clinical faculty into STP related activity in the North West and would normally have strategic oversight of one or more specialties and Schools.

They will work as a member of the Associate Dean Hospital & Community team, contributing to strategic planning in the department, development and monitoring of standards in postgraduate medical and dental education and training, And more widely across the multi-professional workforce

The successful applicant will be expected to work across both offices in Liverpool and Manchester and will have geographical “patch” responsibility providing Trust and specialty support within STP footprints.

Appointment will be made on the based on the Consultant Contract / GP Educator scale GP03 rising to GP04 based on previous experience and appraisal at the end of the first year.

The successful applicant will have:

• A medical qualification, registered with the GMC on the specialist or GP register, with a licence to practise
• Experience in postgraduate medical education and training
• An inspirational leadership style with the ability to lead within a team
• Influencing and networking skills
• An innovative and inclusive approach to delivering high quality multi-professional education
• A sound understanding of quality management and medical education
• experience of working in a managed organisation in the NHS
