The Head of School of Public Health Medicine is an ambassador for HEE NW and will understand HEE priorities including the Mandate and will ensure the effective delivery of training in the School. They are responsible for the overall quality, management and supervision of the programmes in line with the standards laid out by their School Board, its committees and the curriculum. This includes the structure, organisation and delivery of training. They will ensure all the programmes within the School continue to have a population-focused public health approach, with the elimination of discrimination and the promotion of equality of opportunity and access.

The Head of School will ensure there is a fair and transparent approach to decision making, which is compliant with employment legislation and good HR practice. The post holder will promote excellence in training and ensure that all trainees are equipped with the quality improvement skills to ensure high quality of care and patient safety. They will be responsible for identifying the service implications of any changes to training and for ensuring that training programmes continue to deliver the curriculum when there are changes in service delivery.
