Fellow in Medical Education, London School of Medicine

Secondment: 12 months Out of Programme Experience

This is an opportunity for an SpR / StR currently on a higher specialty training programme to spend a year out of programme working within HE North West London. This exciting role will assist the Head of School of Medicine (Dr Andrew Deaner) and Deputy Heads of School of Medicine (Dr Catherine Bryant & Dr Jonathan Birns) in improving quality and quality assurance of education and training in internal medicine care across London.  

The Medical Educational Fellow would work for the School of Medicine as an integral member of a project group facilitating the implementation of the IMT year 3 in London. This would initially involve mapping the curriculum requirements of the IMT year 3 and determining staffing projections from previous CMT and HST data.

The post is remunerated as a full-time appointment but the post-holder will be permitted to continue to participate in clinical activities up to a maximum of three sessions per week. The arrangement of such sessions is to be the responsibility of the post holder through the establishment of an appropriate (unpaid) honorary contract.
