Training Programme Director Vacancies
The following Training Programme Director vacancies are 0.25, 0.75 or 1 PA depending on allocated region.

Pan LDN PEM Sub-Specialty 0.25
The Training Programme Director is responsible for coordinating the Emergency Medicine Training programme in Health Education England across their respective region in London – North Central & East London, North West London or South London.
The PEM sub-specialty Training Programme Director will have responsibility for the 5 London PEM Sub-specialty trainees and should be an accredited PEM EM Sub-specialty trainer.
The HST, ST3 and ST1-2 Training Programme Directors will be responsible for the management of the training programme and trainees and on the relevant named rotations in their region.
The HST Training Programme Directors have responsibility for ensuring the delivery of HST regional training days to trainees. ST3 & ST1/ST2 Training Programme Directors will be jointly responsible for ensuring the delivery of the Pan London ST3 & ST1/2 ACCS training days.
All Training Programme Directors are expected to work with the School EM Leadership leads to deliver the RCEM EMLeaders programme to all trainees. In addition, they will work with the SRTT Champion to ensure all returning trainees are adequately supported.
All Training Programme Directors are expected to work with the School of Emergency Medicine to ensure that regional Faculty Development programmes are delivered to the wider Emergency Medicine training Faculty
The Training Programme Director will ensure that both national standards, determined by the Royal College of Emergency Medicine, and guidelines and standards established within London are met.
The Training Programme Director will be expected to implement national and HEE policies in Emergency Medicine.
The successful applicant will work closely with the LaSE team including; PGMDE Business Manager and the Healthcare Education Team, Head of School, Deputy Head of School, Postgraduate Dean, and other key departments including Quality and Business Support.
They will work with the Postgraduate Dean to produce doctors who will strive for the highest standards of patient-centred care and commit themselves to a lifetime of professional development.
The Healthcare Education Team in the HEE London and South East is responsible for planning the delivery and ensuring the quality of postgraduate medical and dental education and training across London and the South East. HEE is committed to the development of a medical and dental workforce that will support high quality patient care in London, Kent, Surrey and Sussex.
Our work is set within the Five Year forward view for the NHS and is defined by the HEE Mandate from Government. It is part of the consensus on how the NHS needs to change, with a key focus on prevention and a commitment to reducing health inequalities and promoting equality and diversity.
Please note: The post is offered on a secondment basis and all candidates are reminded that if they are successful, they are responsible for securing written agreement from their Trust/Practice for release from clinical work for the specified number of PAs/sessions.
All applicants will need to ensure that they do not have conflicts of interest in any outside post graduate educational roles they hold. Any candidates with potential conflicts of interest are asked to discuss these with the Head of School for Emergency Medicine before interview.
Interviews are currently planned for the 2nd October 2019. For candidates who cannot attend on this date there will be a reserve date of 17th October.
Appointment Duration: The length of appointment will be for 3 years in the first instance.
