Health Education England has an exciting secondment opportunity, initially for 12 months, to become a Chief Nurse and AHP Lead for the North West (Band 9). Based either at Regatta Place in Liverpool or PP3 in Manchester.

This is an exciting opportunity to support the Nursing and Midwifery workforce on a transformation journey.  Education and training are key to any transformational change and through a collaborative approach, which embraces the ideals of coproduction, you will provide strategic leadership to ensure our existing Nursing and Midwifery workforce are best placed to embrace the opportunities that transformation will bring.

This pivotal role provides a fantastic opportunity to provide strategic leadership to support the 60000 plus Registered Nurses and Midwives, and 11000 students  across the North West of England, not only be the best they can today; but to continue to develop their skills and knowledge to meet the Nursing agenda of tomorrow.  In a world that will see healthcare increasingly shaped by the digital and genetic agenda, it has never been more important to ensure we have a compassionate and competent Nursing and Midwifery workforce that is enabled to embrace these developments; but do so in an environment where the provision of personalized caring and compassionate care remains fundamental.

The post will be suited equally to aspiring Directors or experienced Directors who are looking to use their experience to help shape the future landscape for the workforce in Nursing and Midwifery.

If you can provide senior clinical leadership and system leadership across the North West region, whilst working closely with the three ICS/ STP facing Teams, Regional Director and Regional Postgraduate Dean, to strengthen the professional senior nursing and midwifery voice for HEE; and work closely with the Regional Chief Nurse for NHSI/E and help drive transformation at scale and pace working in partnership with local systems, we would love to hear from you.

Applicants will commence at the bottom of Band 9 with a full-time starting salary of £89,537, with a pay step increase after 5 years’ service to £104,927.

These salaries are offered in accordance with NHS Terms and Conditions and the HEE Pay Progression Policy and are subject to annual cost of living review.
