About the role
An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Administrator to take up a very busy and varied post within the Professional Support Unit to cover maternity leave for up to 12 months. The post holder will be responsible for providing practical, administrative support and manage a portfolio of work to support the Associate Deans of Faculty and Professional Support; predominantly in supporting junior doctors.
The post holder will be required to maintain and manage the systems and processes as appropriate, in line with organisational protocols.
This role requires strong organisational skills and high attention to detail. We are looking for a flexible and skilled person who has an enthusiastic approach and attitude to ensure the delivery of a good quality and efficient administrative service within a busy, demanding environment. A higher level qualification is essential and a sound understanding and knowledge of office administration is, required.
You will need to possess excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and the ability to remain calm in a busy environment. Very good organisational skills are also essential as well as a good working knowledge of databases and Excel.
Previous NHS experience and knowledge would be desirable but is not essential, you should be able to use your initiative and manage, prioritise and complete their workload (with some autonomy) while working under pressure and meeting deadlines.
The post holder will be required to liaise with staff at all levels, both internally and externally to the organisation and work effectively as part of a team. They will also have regular contact with junior doctors, consultants, and multi-professionals.
